Welcome to La Grande Saulaie

Come and relax in an old French farmhouse in one of the prettiest and unspoilt parts of FRANCE.
Be sure of a warm welcome at this idyllic rural retreat which is set in 18+ acres, surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Pay de la Loire. The gite can be rented per night on a bed & breakfast basis,or per week on a self-catering basis.

Our self-contained Gite is a converted grain store and has been refurbished to a high standard with an en suite wet room and fitted kitchen/ lounge area, exposed beams and old stone walls.
There is HD TV and Wi-Fi internet access plus your own garden and BBQ area with patio set.
We also offer B&B accommodation and an evening meal if required and an early morning wakeup call by our cockerel, Henry, free of charge! We use our own free range eggs and vegetables in season for our meals or locally sourced produce and we can accommodate special diets such as gluten or sugar free.

The unspoilt natural surroundings mean that it is full of local fauna and flora and only 20km from the centre of the old historic town of Le Mans. The  wonderful  gothic  cathedral is part of the  “old town” with  a free light show in the evenings during the Summer months,  plus the numerous open air cafes and of course the shops. The famous le Mans (24 hr.)  Race track is only 16 km away, about a 15 minute drive, so we are very handy for any race enthusiasts with events taking place from April to October. There is also a car museum at the race track. There are plenty of things to see and do close by from wine tasting to, visiting a chateau or two, swimming in the lakes and pools , zoo’s , nature walks, bird watching, golf courses, riding and much more.
