The area is much sunnier than most people realise. We benefit from a micro climate here so we have many more hot sunny days than many destinations further south in France!

Our Local Area

St Mars D' Outille is our small village on route to La Grande Luce. We are on the doorstep to the Foret de Berce noted for its forest of beautiful oak trees, ideal for outdoor pursuits.  St Mars itself is well known for its equestrian events. There is The Chateau de Segrais, in St Mars there is a meditation centre run by Kadampa  Buddist Monks.

There are local markets held in most towns and villages nearby that sell local produce from fresh goats cheese to local honey, fruit in season and of course French bread, or you can go to a local Brocante, which are held every Sunday and Fete Days and pick up a bargain! We have a local farm shop in the village that sells their fresh farm produce every saturday morning, near the village centre.
